Summer Trip!

Mommy and I hopped on a jet plane and flew "up, up, up sky" (according to me). We went to see "Poompa, Grm-uhh, Eee, Buss-shee, Moo-shee and Tia. (Or in adult speak, Grampa, Gramma, Uncle Ian and the pets--Buffy, Lucy and Sydney.) Mom's still trying to figure out how Sydney translates to tia, but tia does mean aunt in spanish and technically speaking, Sydney is my aunt! So, we'll just go with that. Unfortunately, the grandparents are a little camera shy and mommy was "bissy", so she didn't have enough time to take too many pics. I had so much fun in my swing with the giant Elmo Uncle Ian and Gram bought for me (as well as the outdoor easel, sprinkler mat and loads of other toys Gramma spoiled me with)! I sure do miss them. : (

Gramma B., mommy and I went to Nancy's Secret Garden in Key West while the boys were out doing their thing (whatever that is). This is a super cool place! It's like a tropical rainforest with tropical birds who were rescued from bad pet parents. The birds talked to me...said, "hello", "i love you" and "won't you tell me your name". Just kidding about the last part. They did say "I love you" and I said it back! It was super cute, but the video was deleted from the camera so mommy and daddy could get these last pictures on our way out of town. They lived there for 4 years and worked right next to these trees and NEVER took a picture of them! Can you believe it? Daddy told me that they're called Kapok trees and there are only 4 in Key West. They are gorgeous and so fun to play in!

We drove the electric car over to mom and dad's favorite restaurant in the whole world, Cafe Sole. I LOVE the electric car. See my face and you'll know just how much I loved it. I was a good girl at the restaurant, but Foie Gras?? Come on, what is that all about?? Can't a girl just get some chicken fingers???

And mommy, daddy and grampa B. got their wings! We all went out on a boat in Key West so daddy and grampa could celebrate a belated Father's Day in the air (going parasailing). As a bonus, mommy got to go too! It was so neat to see some of my favorite people fly! I couldn't take my eyes off of them! Captain said I was too little to fly. Boo.

Schooner Wharf Bar Family

This is mommy and daddy's favorite bar in Key West. There's this cool guy who sings there, named Michael McCloud. He sings about the Schooner Wharf Bar Dogs (dogs are welcome to bring their owners along). Well, unfortunately, Miss Hula was on a vacation of her own, so she missed out on all the fun. Someday, we'll move back there and Hula will be a regular.

I went on vacation to paradise again. I'm such a lucky girl. This time, Gramma and Grampa B. joined us. We had a great time and my most favorite part was swimming in the pool and jumping off the side. I couldn't wait for mommy to count to 3, I was just so excited. Daddy and I had a blast floating in this cool tube.

I'm begging mom to have my next party here...this place ROCKS!!! My buddy Sofie turned the big 0-3 here and it was such a blast. They had swings, a ball pit and a ZIP LINE!!! Mommy wanted to ride the zip line, but they said she was too big. Anyway, here are a few pics from this fun day.

We went to this great new place called A Latte Fun! They have this cool bounce house slide that is, like as high as the moon. I went down it with mommy and daddy. A few times they pushed me down myself. I was a little freaked out, but by the end of the day, I was a pro at climbing up and sliding down all by myself! They also had a cool trampoline built into the floor. I LOVED this and a fun foam block pit where daddy fell asleep!

Mommy and daddy and I went on safari...well, to Lion Country Safari. I rode the ferris wheel for the first time. How fun is that!? I also went on this flying elephant ride...OMG, I want to ride that thing forever! I fell asleep before I could see the rhinos and emus. Hey, there's always next time!

I saw this balloon at the store, pointed at it and said "fish" (Nemo is on it), so mom figured I should have it. I wouldn't let it go. I wanted to play with it all day. As you can see I fell asleep holding onto it. When I woke up it was gone...if you see it, please return it for a reward. (All I can offer is what I have...a snack trap filled with goldfish and cheerios. They are really yummy and it's filled to the very top).

Well, you all know by now that I am a true water baby. We went to the beach twice this week--once with my buddies and the other time with dad for a beach picnic! We had pizza and meatballs and then I got to have ice cream. Not your regular old vanilla...I had tequila ice cream! You read that right, TEQUILA flavored ice-cream! It had tequila soaked raisins in it too. So I guess you can say I did ice cream shots! Don't worry, mom and dad didn't let me have too much. But I much preferred it to the mint chocolate chip mom ordered for me!

Not this girl! I've got a whipped cream beard instead! We went strawberry picking at The Girls hydroponic strawberry patch! Strawberries I can pick and eat right there, no waiting....yeah, it's my new favorite place! Of course, I got a few surprises--not ALL strawberries are ripe! In fact, some are pretty yucky. Not the chocolate covered kind though. Those are berry-licious!

Mom and dad took me to the zoo again! No rain this time meant loads of fun in the fountains! My friend Alexis was my big sister for the day. Mom was so thrilled to have her help. I was so thrilled to hang out with someone new! I got to show daddy some animals he hadn't seen before--a white gator and the tigers! Alexis and I got to see a "green" bird. He was so cool! He picked up a water bottle with his beak, flew to the recycling bin and tossed it in! I'm pretty sure they pay him...at least minimum bird wage. PS, check those abs. I worked pretty hard doing crib-climbs to get them bikini ready ; )

Well, as you know, I'm a growing girl. I'm having so much fun everyday learning new words and how to do new things. I repeat a lot of what mom and dad say now (they're working very hard on keeping the language PG these days). I can say uh-oh, all done, hush, bird, good girl, go-go-go, no-no-no (while pointing and shaking my finger), please, more, etc. If you ask, I can show you my belly, head, face, mouth, etc. I can probably identify more Sesame St. characters than anyone reading this too--just ask me!

Bunny Ears, Bonnets and Eggs...Oh My!

So these holidays that involve candy are by far my favorite! I celebrated like there was no tomorrow. I went to the park with mommy and some of my friends to meet Mr. Peter H. Cottontail himself (he has some funny teeth, I tell you). I danced "the ice cream and cake". Mommy's never heard of this dance, but it's all the rage with us toddlers. (See my tushie-shaking video at the bottom of the page. P. Diddy, you can reach my agent @ 555-MAMA if you're looking for extras for your next video. I only charge 5 lollipops.).

I also had my great grandpa come over for the ceremonious ham. We played with my giant Elmo eggs and he was great fun! I wasn't a very big fan of the ham. Sorry dad (it's not you, it's ME).

On Easter Sunday, our original plans of taking in a polo match and showing off my fab easter bonnet (made with love by mom) in the local contest were rained out by mother nature. Hey, there's always next year! So instead, we binged on reese's peanut butter eggs and pez (hey, it's kinda like breakfast...they are called eggs)! The cabin fever set in around noon, so we braved the zoo in scattered down-pours. Of course, I donned my bunny ears. The peacocks at the zoo were a little confused when this little blue bunny started chasing them! Thanks mom and dad for making this an extra fun holiday!!!

I do know that I can put on my own shoes! That's right. See those mismatched shoes? I did that all by MYSELF! Well...I put the pink croc on (after taking off my right sandal). This is how mom found me in the kitchen when she came to see what all the quiet was about.

After a long hot day at that parade (it was 92 degrees, people), I thought I should take a dip. Don't you love my cute little swim dress? Don't I look splashing, wait...I mean...smashing in it? Hula sat by and watched the festivities. She enjoyed chasing me around the yard when I would jump out and steal her toy. Good times! My most favorite part was climbing in, then out of the pool (over and over again). Afterwards, daddy and I played funny faces on the glass door. Mom, you better clean those windows now! Well, it started out as a play date for Hula and her friend Shayna. I crashed it when I found that wicked cool mud puddle. Well, once again my gramma came to visit and we hardly got any pictures of her. We had a great time while she was here. We went for a ride on the water taxi in Ft. Lauderdale (my first boat ride, out of the womb). Mommy and gramma celebrated their joint birthdays. We had lots of fun shopping and dining experiences. I also provided the entertainment with nightly shows of me falling asleep on my rollercoaster. Mom will upload the video to you-tube soon. You must check back for that one. Wink.

Christmas Vacation!

I had the best Christmas ever! We went to VA and got to see both sets of Grandparents! Woo-hoo! While on vacation, I grew up. I started walking, full on. It happened on Christmas Day, so let's call that mommy and daddy's gift from me (not quite sure they'll consider it a "gift")! I also started saying a lot of new words and phrases ("ah boom", "all done", "gentle", "kitty" which sometimes sounds more like "she-she", and "shh..." I even (kinda) make the gesture by putting my finger in my mouth! I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it all right now. I'm getting 6 new teeth, many of which are molars. Can you say ouch? I think I'm going to take a nap and finish this later....

My Birthday Party!!!

Mommy and daddy hosted a breakfast bash for me at the park! We had yummy food (daddy made quiche), a super cool Elmo cake and lots of friends! My Uncle Ian flew down for the big day. Thank god for him! Mommy was sick so he had to do all the setting up (and cleaning up) while daddy stayed home getting the quiches ready. We took my roller coaster to the park to share it with all the babies. They LOVED it! I was so happy to share it, as long as I could chill on the swings! I thoroughly enjoyed mashing my hands around in that buttercream and then putting them in my mouth (and my hair). Thank you to everyone who made this a special day for me! PS, check the pink dress--don't I look cute in it?? Uncle Ian got that for me--good taste, uncle, GOOD taste!

Thanksgiving in Key West.

Mommy and daddy took me to Key West for Thanksgiving. This is their favorite place to be and now I know why! Palm trees, roosters, electric cars, scooters, water and delicious food!! We went with my 3 "uncles"--Young Andy, Magic Matt and Baby Chuckles (Chris). Sylvia (Andy's girlfriend) and Barbara (Chris and Matt's mom) joined us too!

We had a great time with daily swims, strawberries for breakfast EVERY DAY (woo-hoo!), always a yummy meal somewhere and some nice play time on the deck. I got to meet mommy's friends Molly and Scott, along with Scott's wife and 5 year-old daughter. I got to meet a real-life Schooner Wharf Bar Dog (mommy and daddy say Hula is one, but she's never been). I met Michael McCloud. I had my first outdoor shower (not trying to make anyone up north jealous). I made my car into a true conch-cruiser. I TRIED to drive the electric car. And we even got the ceremonious shot at the Southernmost Point.

I went trick-or-treating in my neighborhood. I got my first boy kiss...YUCK...from Anthony. He even climbed in my car to kiss me. I pushed him away. I'm irresistible, what can I say? I talked to Mike Myers and he said he would "take care of him" for me! I got my first candy bar from my surrogate grandparents, Phyllis and Tony. I chewed on it in place of my missing teether. Boy, did it help my gums feel better!

How I've Grown.

First day: I'm new, cute, soft and cuddly, not much else to say!

1 month old, I sleep and eat most of the day. I love my swing.

2 months old, I suck my thumb, sleep and eat most of the day. I'm a happy baby, but I don't like the car very much.

3 months old, I start showing interest in toys this month.

4 months old, I try solid baby food for the first time and I love it! I also start sitting in my bumbo chair (it helps me learn how to sit on my own). I really love my feet. These things are so cool!

5 months old, I'm sitting for a brief period on my own without falling over. i'm eating all sorts of baby food and I'm very attentive. I love to play with toys and look at other babies. I also start drinking water from a cup this month and saying mama, baba and dada (not sure if any of it means anything just yet)!

6 months old, I'm sitting up on my own and I start to feed myself cheerios this month. I'm trying lots of different foods and I'm getting cuter every day! This is the last month I've really sucked my thumb. I do start drinking water from a straw. Mommy figured this out when I started sucking on her iced coffee straw for fun and actually got a good swig!

7 months old, I'm sitting up on my own and I move around by scooting clockwise and backwards, I am so close to crawling it's crazy (I start at 7.5 mos., get my first two teeth at same time).

8 months old, I can crawl, pull up on things, wave, get mom and dad's attention by saying "heh". I have 2 teeth.

Mommy and daddy took me to the zoo. How much fun is that! I saw monkeys, ponies, pink birds and got to play in the splash fountain (see bottom of blog for baby gone wild video). I also got to ride the carousel for the very first time (so cool) and try a pickle (dee-lish)! Those silly parents of mine also took a whole bunch of crazy pictures (you'll see).

Road Trip!

The fam and I loaded up Gramma's Ford and headed north for our first family vacation--woo-hoo! Hula and I were good girls on the trip. Mom and dad stopped often to give us a break from the car. Here are some pics from the whole trip.

Went to Buff State where mommy, daddy and gramma and grampa Berg graduated from. Even went to one of daddy's old classrooms (where mommy would bring him and uncle Andy candy and coffee at 3 am when they were pulling "all-nighters" on art projects).

Went out to the country.

I have to say, I had a great time with my gramma and grampa Hermansen up north. They gave me my first taste of ice cream--can you say YUM? What is this Gerber person thinking? He needs to put this stuff in a jar! Unfortunately, gramma was a litte camera shy, but we did get her on video with me. You'll see more pics of she and I soon. Mommy and I are going up north again in a month for auntie Karina's wedding.

We also made a brief stop at my daddy's cousin, Rhonda's house in VA. I cannot tell you what cousin she is to me or how many times she is removed, but she is one cool chick! While we were there I got to see my grampa Berg, great aunt Marilyn, Tanya, Andy, Damien, Lucas and we can't forget about Abby's daddy Nick. Hula and I went swimming in the pool and had so much fun! (I think we only got this on video.)

Had lots of fun this summer!

Went to the park with my friend Grant (my future boyfriend).

Went to the museum with my friends Emily, Nathan and Kassidy.

Played with Miss Hula.

Went out to dinner with my parents. Did you see Marilyn Monroe in the background?

Played with my cool new house with my wicked cool friend William.

Took lots of baths. How do you like my soap-hawk?

Blew raspberries in my pretty new dress.

Got kisses from daddy!

And even went to the doctor. This was BEFORE my shots!

Well, I had an eventful month of June, and July is starting out pretty cool too! In June, my grandma H. visited for 2 weeks. She watched me while mommy and daddy went to work. We had tons of fun swimming in the pool and playing in the house. I'm psyched I get to see my gram again in 3 weeks when I take my first vacation with the whole fam up to Buffalo.

I experienced my first 4th of July at our friends' (Robert and Melinda) house. How cool! They live out in the country and they have a bearded dragon (I touched him, he was scale-licious) and an air hockey table that made me giggle when mommy played a game! Mom, you should get one for daddy; ) I LOVED the fireworks and stayed awake until the very last one went off and then I crashed in my mommy's arms. It was the best day ever! You have to see the expression on my face in the pics!
